<td colspan="2" valign="top">Skiing is an expensive sport &#8211; make no doubt about it.  While you may be able to save some money on specials and multi-day passes at your favorite destination resort, you still need to have a place to lay your tired body after a full day on the slopes.  Unfortunately, that can eat up a ski budget very quick.  Here are a few tips on ways to save a few of your hard earned dollars the next time you head to the slopes.Book a Bed and Breakfast</td>

<td colspan="2" valign="top">The thought of skiing may make you apprehensive, but once you have begun lessons you&#8217;ll want to go skiing again and again.  Having the cold mountain air in your face is as exhilarating as anything you can imagine.First you should always take a couple days lessons. One mistake many new skiers make is allowing their skilled friend or family member to teach. A piece of advice: don&#8217;t do it! It is not that they are not great skiers but they are too close to the situation. Soon, tempers flare and the entire situation is stressful. Instead, a lesson with someone at the slopes that does this for a living can make the learning process more enjoyable and safer.</td>

<td colspan="2" valign="top">Looking for a different kind of winter snow adventure? Consider a Pacific Northwest sno-park. Whether it is a family outing, or a solo, thrill seeking excursion, you are bound to find the terrain and conditions to cure your winter sweet tooth at a sno-park. That is, if you want a break from skiing resorts. So what are sno-parks?They are state maintained parking areas which have been set aside for recreation purposes. They are open only during the winter season &#8211; usually beginning in November and running until April. Most sno-parks will be marked with signs stating they are WINTER RECREATION AREAS. You can find sno-parks in most mountain passes, and also at lots of skiing and snow play areas.</td>
